The riots that spread like wildfire across the central region on Thursday and Friday were by far the most violent in recent history, having recorded the highest number of fatalities and casualties.
Last week’s riots, in which all the 24 people who died succumbed to gunshot wounds and more than half of those admitted at the Mulago Hospital, dwarfed all the previous demonstrations that turned violent.
